RE: which would you get?

Had the same basic choice and Carriage won by a landslide. Haven't been sorry either.

RE: window putty

Are you looking on the outside between the rubber gasket and the glass?
I have never seen a putty product used on a vinly or aluminum product...
If you are referring to the outside rubber gasket where it meets the glass -- leave it alone unless it is leaking. Those seals rareley use any sealent and if they do it is usually a stay soft type automtive sealent not a silcone type product.
Good Luck...

RE: Looking to Buy a 2010 Carriage Cameo 36FWS

The Cameo and Carriage products in general are very good. As far as the price goes it never hurts to ask. Winter is upon us along with the holiday season. The number of units selling in most places is going to slow way down which may make the average dealer anxious to move a high in unit.
Good Luck and try and enjoy the journey...

He may have done some serious boondocking -- Wanted the tire for possible flats and the airbag for rough ground...

RE: Trailer Insurance one more time.

Call your agent -- In our state the cost is abiut $50 to $100 a year---
Perhaps an error -- or does that include the tow vehicle as well.

RE: Storing Hitch Hanging From Pin

A buddy of mine has been doing it for years. He has a B&W and just unhooks from truck and uses the trailer to lift it out of the truck bed.
You are fine in leaving it there as many others have said.

RE: FIFTH WHEEL or Gooseneck hitch

Son-in-law has a goose neck -- appears to be a pain in the neck to use. I have a B&W -- very easy and will leave the bed clean like his when I want.

RE: air bags

Pretty much agree with others. I have them, with cab controls -- I like them. Are they necessary -- probably not. Does everthing ride better with them -- absolutely. I also added the rancho 9000 shocks with cab controls.
Try yours first -- if money is no object -- go for them. I believe they have value.

We try and use those thin plastic type cutting boards under as much as possible as often as possible. Not quite the answer you are looking for but it really helps...

RE: Are Awinings useful or are they just something to have

Mine is electric so it is very easy to out out and in. I woudn't be without one. When we are the ocean it is very windy at times. So the electric makes it very convient and anyone can do it...

RE: Carriage Fifth Wheels

We searched for a couple years before buying our Cameo -- Never found anyone that didn't like there unit. Some may have not been real happy with their dealer but not the unit.
We also asked several independent repair shops what the thought of Carriage products and all of them gave them a thumbs up, saying they were among the very best. By independent I mean they had no affiliation with a dealer or specific brand of trailer.
Good luck and enjoy the adventure.

Wasn't sure where to ask this but ---
My kids bought a 1977 Shasta 22' they think. It has a bed in the front and double bunks in the back.
We were wondering what the dry tow weight of thise unit might be. They could not find a tag on it showing the weight. Any help would be apprecuated.
